Teesside recruitment company TechConsult UK has marked its fifth birthday with continued expansion into new markets.
The company, which is based at The Wilton Centre, near Redcar, recruits personnel for the offshore, fabrication and maintenance, process, shipbuilding, and civil engineering industries.
Since the company’s incorporation, it has placed almost 250 contractors into positions locally and internationally and recently placed its 100th permanent worker, with Darlington-based firm CTC Marine.
TechConsult UK works with some of the world’s biggest names and has been expanding into the international marketplace with continued European placements into France, Norway and Holland, as well as in Angola in South-Central Africa and into Asia, including Malaysia. The company is also about to start recruiting into China for a German client.
Managing Director Steve Guest said: “These are exciting times for the company. We can clearly sees many sectors emerging from the recent recession and our success at finding placements for people reflects the confidence that is emerging.
“Our expansion into global markets is very important for us as well, not least because British skills are prized across the planet. St Aidan’s Church of England Academy, in Darlington, has been honoured for its international work. The Academy in Hundens Lane has been confirmed as a recipient of the International School Award 2011, awarded by the British Council. The accreditation will last for three years and acknowledges educational establishments that have done work to foster international understanding.

St Aidan’s Church of England Academy, in Darlington, is stepping up the way it helps its students with their Mathematics.
Students have been taking part in a range of activities designed to inspire their interest in the subject, including participating in the Mathletics programme. Mathletics is a web-based initiative which allows young people around the world to use mathematics in a series of competitions and challenges both in and out of school hours. Successful schools register on a league table.
